A must-have for any expedition camper aficionado! Gary and Monika Wescott are pioneers of international expedition travel in Ford F-Series trucks. Travel with Gary and Monika to Iceland and discover why it is called "The Land of Fire and Ice". The video also introduces us to Icelandic home-grown 4x4's called "Super Jeeps" as well as Icelandic folktales that reflect that nation's adventurous spirit. I love this video! My only regret is that it is only available in VHS. I made a digital copy of mine so I wouldn't wear it out. Available for The Turtle Expedition Store or Amazon.

Even though this is a motorcycle trip and not strictly related to expedition campers, after watching the Long Way Round on TV, I realized that this book should prove useful to anyone planning to drive around the world by way of Siberia and Mongolia. Follow successful actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman as they travel around the world "the long way round" atop BMW Motorcycles. But this book is not about pretty boys on a joy ride. Even though Ewan and Charley had two Mitsubshi support vehicles (before one of them was wrecked), they rode on their own ahead of the support crew most of the time, camping out many nights, and their selected route proved even more challenging than they thought requiring every once of will power they had not to give up. I am halfway through this one. The beginning is kind of boring as each of them recalls how they fell in love with motorcycles but it starts getting interesting as they start planning their adventure. Available from Amazon.
